Thanksgiving is just a few days away, so we asked our staff to share some of the things they are thankful for this year. Here are a few of their responses:

Donna Galassi, Associate Publisher: I’m grateful for the basics: easily accessible clean water, food, and shelter. These are things I take for granted and do not remember that much of the world’s population struggles with these basics on a daily basis. Be grateful and give back.

Lisa Lee, Tech Support Analyst: I’m thankful for the ability to forgive. By forgiving anything or anybody, I’m able to free myself from the burdens of anger and resentment, which allows me to live a joyful life. Sometimes, it takes two or three tries to fully forgive, but I keep doing it. In the end, I’m a better person for it.

Darren Alessi, Senior Production Coordinator: I’m thankful for my two beautiful daughters and a wife who puts up with me.

Eva Zimmerman, Publicist: I’m thankful for my family’s health, first, and foremost. I’m thankful for love, laughter, and happiness in life; I’m thankful for my partner and this last year of remembering what those things feel like. I’m thankful for my job and my home, because I know many people aren’t as fortunate as I am this year.

Andie East, Publicist: I’m thankful to be spending this holiday with two men that I have so much respect for. One is my partner, who is always supportive, caring, full of common-sense, and makes me smile every morning. The other is my brother, whom I’ve grown closer to in the last two years. Also, they can cook.

Sierra Machado, Publishing Assistant: As a recent graduate, I thought for sure—due to the unfortunate state of the economy—that I would have to put aside my desire to work in book publishing and take any job that became available to me after graduation. I’m so thankful I was wrong. I have been with The Perseus Books Group (parent company to Moon Travel Guides) for two months now, and I feel incredibly lucky to be doing something I’m passionate about.

Jane Musser, Senior Production Director: I’m thankful for my four happy pups every time I walk through my front door.

Jodee Krainik, Publicist: This year, I’m feeling especially grateful for my health, and the ability I have to sign up for a 5K Turkey Trot without batting an eye.

Jen Rios-Burns, Online Marketing Manager: I’m thankful for my health, and the continued health and happiness of my family and friends. I’m also extremely thankful for my job, the roof over my head, and the most loyal and funny friends and family a person could ask for.

We’d love to hear what you’re thankful for this year. Feel free to tell us in the comments below, or on the Moon Facebook or Twitter pages.

From all of us at Moon Travel Guides, Happy Thanksgiving!
