Welcome to the newest phase of Moon.com! Our goal is for print and digital to work together, making it easy for Moon fans to find the content they want. While a website may never replace the convenience of a Moon travel guide in your hand, it can be a great supplement. Now, with responsive design in our layout, Moon.com is easy to browse and read on any device, from desktop to smartphone. As our publisher Bill Newlin says, “We first went up before there was a web!”Under the hood, we have a more agile, stable platform with plenty of room to grow. Loading pages and serving images is faster than ever, giving visitors quicker access to everything from our printable maps to the expert advice of our knowledgeable authors.
New content is being published daily here at Moon.com, starting with inspiration for taking a Trip of a Lifetime, whether that’s to our series destinations—Angkor Wat, the Galápagos Islands, Jerusalem, Machu Picchu, or the Taj Mahal—or by finding a destination that’s special to you.
This is an exciting time for us at Moon, but our website has been pretty revolutionary from the start. As our publisher Bill Newlin says, “We first went up before there was a web!”
Before the World Wide Web existed, Moon could be found online through its own gopher site. Since Moon.com came into being in 1993, we’ve been through as many designs as our book covers. Have a peek at Moon.com over the years:
We’d like to thank the efforts of Sarah Juckniess and her marketing team, Larissa Hageman and Kimi Owens, who have worked with maiki to bring us into a “New Moon.”
