Are there Indian etiquette tips or customs of which travelers should be aware?

It’s always nice to address people older than you as “uncle” or “auntie,” but if there’s any ambiguity about your interlocutor’s age, use “didi” (sister) or “bhaiya” (brother) instead. Also, it's a good idea to check if you should remove your shoes before entering someone's home.
