Travel agents, tour operators, and other travel industry professionals can learn about opportunities for travel to Cuba during this year's The Trade Show, the premier annual event of the US travel and tourism industry.

Sure, it's currently illegal for most U.S. citizens to travel to Cuba... but certain categories of travelers are allowed, and travel agents and tour operators can make arrangements.

I'll be presenting during the second annual Cuba destination seminar, titled "Cuba Breakthrough:
Opportunities for the US Travel Industry," on Sunday, September 13 (noon-1:30 p.m.), at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The other panelists/speakers reads are:

• Bob Whitley, President, US Tour Operators Association (moderator)
• Lisa Simon, President, National Tour Association more >>

View Christopher P Baker's TV interviews about Cuba and Costa Rica

I can't believe it's taken me a year or two to upload some of my recent TV interviews about Cuba and Costa Rica. But here they are... fresh for your viewing pleasure.

I love doing TV interviews, and especially so with Fanny Kiefer, of Shaw TV's Studio4. She and I have a great rapport (that isn't always the case between interviewer and interviewee), and her program gives me more than the usual five-minute slot, thankfully free of inane questions!

Here I discuss all the great things to do and see in Costa Rica...

Many of my readers know that I researched the first edition of Moon Cuba astride my BMW R100 GS Paris-Dakar motorcycle. What an adventure! It resulted a few years later in publication of my literary travelog, Mi Moto Fidel: Motorcycling Through Castro's Cuba (National Geographic Adventure Press, 2001). The book was named the Lowell Thomas Award "Travel Book of the Year" and also won the Grand Award in the North American Travel Journalists' Association.

Mi Moto Fidel: Motorcycling Through Castro's Cuba has since been published in Dutch, German, and Turkish.

It is currently available as a paperback at bookstores in North America.

Seeking a hardback edition? No problem... I can supply signed hardback copies for the low price of ONLY $29.95 plus shipping! You get my signature for FREE! more >>
