Our guidebook giveaway is in its second week and here’s what this week’s winners had to say about their favorite U.S. cities:

Heather K’s favorite U.S. city is Grand Rapids, Michigan. She says, “It's a city that has plenty to do and I feel safe walking around on the streets - even at night. The river running through the city might not be the cleanest, but it's beautiful and has cool bridges going over it.”

Anna F. is all about New York for its “dining, Broadway, diversity of people and some of the best shopping in the world. I was there as a teenager with my grandma during 9/11 and saw first hand the kindness and resiliency of New Yorkers.”

Santa Fe, New Mexico has everything Amber G. could ever want in a city. She says, “[it’s] one of the most beautiful with a delicate blend of Native American culture and modern American luxury. The Southwest adobe buildings are just gorgeous and the perfect backdrop for the daily craft market where Native Americans hawk their wares at the plaza….The restaurants are just to die for as well, all serving their own twist on Southwest fusion cuisine….Santa Fe is just beautiful, and I love the wild and free spirit of the city.”

The Windy City is at the top of Adam K’s list. Here’s what he had to say: “I just love Chicago: friendly people, great museums (Shedd, Space Museum) and the chance to have a nice walk along the lovely Lake Michigan. The two towers there provide an excellent view of the city and the lake. The city is safe and easy to navigate by public transport, and there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants in most of the central neighborhoods.”

Saranac Lake, New York is a nature lover’s paradise and that’s exactly what Jason M. loves about it. He had this to say: “In this town, located in the heart of the Adirondacks, you can hike, fish, bike, snowmobile, ski, snowshoe, and just about everything else you can think of doing in nature.” To Jason, “the best part of being in Saranac Lake, is waking up to a mist on one of the many lakes in town, and hearing the birds and loons on the lake.”

To Susan R. Cedar City, Utah “is a small town with everything to offer….It is Utah’s secret little mountain treasure. It is the home to the Tony award winning Shakespearean Festival, a stones throw from spectacular Zion’s National Park, a reasonable drive to Arches National Park which is shockingly a completely different landscape, a 45 minute drive to Tuachan, a Broadway quality outdoor theatre, and home to some of the most hospitable people in the world.”

George G. is all about Boston. Here’s some of what he had to say: “The rich sports history must be second to none with the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins. Boston has a rich history, a diverse back ground, and a bright future. What more could you ask in a City?”
