Guest Post: Winter in the National Parks Part 1

Glacier National Park in winter by Becky Lomax.JPG

By Becky Lomax

One of the best times to visit one of the U.S. National Parks is during the winter. The crowds are lighter, the scenery is as beautiful as always, and there are typically good deals to be found on accommodations. Here is my list of some of the top parks to visit during the winter. The second part of this series will run on Thursday.

Reader Photo of the Day: Costa Rica

CostaRica_Bird.JPG

The amusing photo above was sent to us by one of our readers, Rebecca Scholl, of Smyrna, Georgia who snapped the shot while on her honeymoon in Costa Rica.

About the photo, Scholl said:

"I was reading your guide by the pool at our resort in La Fortuna when we saw a few birds and began taking pictures. This poor bird's wings are clipped and he actually lives at the resort. It looks like he is reading a manual on how to fly. Thought you would enjoy the picture with your book. Thanks for a great guide book!"

Thanks to you, Rebecca, for sending us this photo and letting us know you found our Moon Costa Rica guidebook helpful. We're glad you had a great trip. more >>
