Wanted: Your Best Travel Photos

Not Your Typical Walk in the Park
Ann Marie Brown wasn’t kidding when she gave Yosemite’s Half Dome a “very strenuous” rating in Moon Yosemite. Mostly everything you’ve ever heard about Half Dome is true. It’s arduous, yes. It’s grueling, yes. It’s risky, yes. Insert any other adjectives that are synonymous with the three used above and I’ll most likely agree. Where Did You Go This Summer?
Being surrounded by guidebooks every day can definitely spark the travel bug. And this summer, Moon staffers took some awesome trips that ran the gamut from Paris to Paso Robles. Here’s a round-up of some of our summertime adventures:
Sarah Juckniess, Marketing Services Manager: This summer I visited Amsterdam, Belgium, Switzerland, and parts of German Bavaria thanks to a last-minute airfare score. I can still hear the bicycle bells ringing, the old-fashioned boats motoring the canals, the beer steins clinking their toasts, and the Alpen cows lowing to advertise their delicious cheese. more >>

Avalon Travel, and our fellow imprint, Seal Press, are looking for a part-time marketing and publicity intern. The position is unpaid, but provides a great chance to learn more about book publicity and marketing. Our interns are involved in a variety of marketing and publicity related projects, including writing press releases and galley letters, pitching media, writing copy, and doing web research. They also help with administrative tasks such as review copy mailings, filing, and other projects as needed.
