Julie Doherty Meade was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, but her love affair with New York City began at an early age. During annual family vacations on the east coast, she made her first awestruck visits to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History. It was during these trips that her father, a native New Yorker, helped foster Julie’s deep appreciation for pizza slices, cannoli, and egg sandwiches.
Today, Julie lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Arturo, where she writes and edits for various publications, including New York Magazine. She spends her free time visiting galleries, obsessively window shopping, and seeking out the best cheap noodles, local beers, and Italian desserts.
Julie is also the author of Moon San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato & the Bajío and Moon Living Abroad in Mexico.
