Within Peter Lougheed Provincial Park are six auto-accessible campgrounds that hold a total of 507 sites. All are on Kananaskis Lakes Road and are linked by bicycle and hiking trails. Boulton Creek Campground ($22–34) has coin-operated showers just beyond the registration gate (complete with rack for those who have a bike), flush toilets, a few of the 118 sites with power, and an interpretive amphitheater, and is within walking distance of a restaurant and grocery store.

Elkwood Campground ($20) is the largest of the park’s campgrounds, with 130 sites. It offers showers ($1 for five minutes) along each of four loops, flush toilets, a playground, and an interpretive amphitheater.

Canyon, Lower Lakes, and Interlakes Campgrounds ($20) are more rustic, with only pit toilets, pump water, and picnic tables (Interlakes has some great water-view sites). Mt. Sarrail Campground ($20) is described as a “walk-in” campground for tenters, but some sites are right by the main parking lot.

All campgrounds in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park are operated by Kananaskis Camping Inc. (403/591-7226, www.kananaskiscamping.com).
