Readers have reported pleasant outings with Eduardo’s Tours (tel. 612/166-1657 or 612/152-1213, www.eduardostours.com). Eduardo Gomez provides ground transportation and leads guided trips to Los Cabos (US$110 pp), Todos Santos (US$80 pp), and El Triunfo (US$80 pp). A La Paz city tour costs US$32 per person, and a tour of several beaches along the Pichilingue Peninsula is US$32. Whale-watching tours (US$120 pp, includes two hours of whale-watching but is a full-day trip with a long drive to Bahía Magdalena and back) and snorkeling (US$80 pp, US$95 pp with kayaks) are also possible. Travelers with more time can arrange multiday trips to the missions in Loreto and Mulegé or to see nearby cave paintings in the mountains.

In addition to hiking and horseback riding tours, Antonio Moller (tel. 612/123-1370) offers guided trips to El Triunfo and the nearby cactus sanctuary. Tours cost US$40 per person, with a minimum of three people, and last approximately six hours (8 A.M.–3 P.M.).
