The short but comprehensive menu here changes weekly, and is written on a chalkboard next to the tiny men’s room; there’s a huge swordfish mounted on the wall; the music veers from old-school country to alternapop; and the owners live upstairs. Peter’s Inn has been one of Baltimore’s favorite restaurants for years because it pairs inventive cooking and fresh ingredients with an unpretentious, eclectic bar scene and a petite dining room (there’s also outdoor seating).
There are always steak, fish, and vegetarian-friendly options, and don’t skip the legendary garlic bread. Weekend crowds and no reservations can mean a wait at the bar, but then again, it’s a really great bar (and it’s open until 1 a.m.).
