The 5-star Emperor Hotel is a member of the Design Hotels network due to its boutique status, modern design, and high-end facilities. Built in 2008, the Emperor Hotel is a great choice for proximity to the Forbidden City and for modern, affordable luxury.
It is located at the east of the Forbidden City, close to where the Emperor had his sleeping quarters in dynastic times. Each of the 55 rooms in the hotel is named after a different emperor in Chinese history.
The hotel’s restaurant, Shi, is a destination in and of itself, serving modern fusion food against a backdrop of striking orange furniture.
