Vintage clothing is growing ever more popular in Beijing, especially among the hipster crowd that hangs out in the Gulou hutong. Mega Mega Vintage is one of the best known and best loved vintage stores in the city, gathering garments, shoes, and accessories from Thailand, Japan, and Korea.

Each piece is carefully chosen for its stylistic merit and quality, and the leather jackets are particularly good. Look out for one-off dresses and knitted sweaters, as well as plaid shirts and 1980s-style denim.

Gulou is chock full of vintage shops now, but Mega Mega is the original and still the best.
