Amazon Ecopark
Trip Ideas
Only a 30-minute boat trip up the Rio Negro, Amazon Ecopark is a jungle-lodge set amidst a private nature reserve. Even if you don’t stay at the hotel, you’re free to come and explore the surroundings, which include the Amazon Monkeys Jungle, a sanctuary devoted to the care (and subsequent release into the forest) of illegally captured monkeys.
Many ecotour companies offer half-day and full-day trips here that include transportation, hiking, and canoe trips through the jungle, and visits to the monkey sanctuary.
