Curitiba has a lively arts scene for a city of its size. One of Brazil’s premier theaters, Teatro Guaíra (Rua 15 de Novembro, Centro, tel. 41/3322-2628) has three auditoriums where you can often see high-caliber theater, dance, and classical music performances.
Although the acoustics are less than impressive, in terms of aesthetics, it is worth your while to check out a concert at the Ópera de Arame in Parque da Pedreira.
