Lagoa da Conceição possesses a great variety of restaurants. You’ll find many casual places serving fish and seafood as well as the traditional sequência de camarões, in which waiters circulate, rodízio-style, offering dish after dish of shrimp prepared in a variety of ways, such as steamed, grilled, breaded, stuffed with creamy Catupiry cheese, and au vinaigrette.

With panoramic views of the lagoon, Casa do Chico (Av. das Rendeiras 1620, Lagoa da Conceição, tel. 48/3232-5132, www.casadochico.com, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 a.m. Tues.–Sun., open Mon. in summer, R$20–30) is a simple and much-loved institution. Aside from the sequência de camarões, try torpedo de siri, a type of crab fritter, as well as grilled linguado (sole) swathed in seafood and cream and gratinéed with parmesan.

At the more upscale Chef Fedoca (Rua Senador Ivo d’Aquino Neto 133, Lagoa da Conceição, tel. 48/3232-0848, www.cheffedoca.com.br, 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.–midnight Tues.–Fri., 11:30 a.m.–midnight Sat., 11:30 a.m.–6 p.m. Sun.; 11:30 a.m.–midnight daily Dec.–Mar., R$40–50), located on the picturesque marina, the star attraction, apart from the sequência de frutas do mar, is the famous fish and shrimp moqueca invented by Fedoca, a former diver cum chef.
