California makes an ideal destination for retired folks looking to relax and have a great time. You’ll find senior discounts nearly every place you go, from restaurants to golf courses to major attractions, and even at some hotels, though the minimum age can vary from 50–65. Just ask, and be prepared to produce ID if you look young or are requesting an AARP discount.
For landlubbers, RV parks abound throughout the state, and even many of the state and national parks can accommodate RVs and trailers. The Southern California deserts are particularly popular with snowbirds. Check with the parks you want to visit for size and location restrictions, hookup and dump station information, and RV slot prices.
