If you’re just dying for Thai or Vietnamese food, one of the better spots in Pasadena is Daisy Mint (1218 E. Colorado Blvd. 626/792-2999, www.daisymint.com, Mon.–Fri. 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Sat.–Sun. noon–9 p.m., $10–30). The tiny green dining room’s exposed brick and original artwork speak of SoCal, while the menu items tend to come from Southeast Asia and beyond. You’ll find the aforementioned Thai and Vietnamese, plus Korean and uniquely Californian Asian-fusion dishes here.
Some of the fun special touches of the house include a variety of steamed rice that you can choose to accompany your meal, and a large selection of unusual and fragrant teas. Pick whatever you think will go best with your satay, curry, seafood, or soup. Reservations are recommened on weekend evenings.
