If you’re looking for something different and special for dinner in North Beach, seek out Mangarosa (1548 Stockton St., 415/956-3211, www.mangarosasf.com, Tues.–Thurs. 6–11 p.m., Fri. 6 p.m.–midnight, Sat. 5 p.m.–midnight Sun. 5 p.m.–10 p.m., $16–30). The “pink mango” offers a scrumptious taste of sunny Brazil under the chill San Francisco fog. The Italian neighborhood influence touches the South American cuisine here, and the dining room is open late for visitors who prefer to eat like Europeans.
