City and Gulf Tours
Trip Ideas
Trolley tours around the city center, historic neighborhoods, and to the outlying forts are offered by Trambia de la Ciudad (9 a.m.–1 p.m. and 5–8 p.m. daily, US$8). Tours are typically led in English and Spanish and last 45 minutes. Trolleys leave from the central plaza on weekdays and from the Plaza Patrimonio Mundial (Calle 8 between Calles 55 and 53) on weekends.
Fun for kids, the Barco Pirata Lorencillo (tel. 981/816-1990, departures at noon and 6 p.m. daily, US$10 adults, US$5 children) is a 90-minute boat ride along Campeche’s coast with a pirate show as the main event. Drinks and snacks are sold aboard. Catch the boat at the fishing pier in the village of Lerma, eight kilometers (5 miles) south of town.
