Out of place on a busy downtown street corner, the Centro Cultural Villahermosa (Avs. Francisco Madero and Zaragoza, tel. 993/314-5552, 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Tues.–Sun., free) is a sleek, ultramodern building with a sloping glass facade and gleaming white walls inside and out.
Counting the lustrous main lobby, there are seven exhibition spaces. A small theater also hosts occasional performances. Information about other expositions and cultural events around town is given here too.
And if you just want a break from the heat, the café at the back has fresh coffee and good, light fare. There’s live music, usually piano or guitar, most evenings 5–7 p.m.
