At any hour of the day, you’ll find a queue of calesas, more commonly referred to here as victorias, parked along the long northern wall of the convent. Ostensibly for tourists—a half-hour ride around town runs around US$4.65—these tiny, horse-pulled buggies do an active business carrying locals (often whole families) from place to place. It is one of relatively few cities in Mexico where this is the case.
