A long high-ceilinged room—this used to be a church—the Museo San Roque (Calle 41 between Calles 38 and 40, 9 a.m.–8 p.m. daily, free) is a worthwhile stop, with fascinating displays on Valladolid’s history, with a focus on the Caste War and the beginning of the Mexican Revolution.
Interestingly, both conflicts, so important to Mexican history, grew out of incidents in and around Valladolid.
Displays of local handicrafts also are notable. Signage, unfortunately, in Spanish only.
