In North Carolina, finding barbeque is easy—it’s finding good barbeque that can be a challenge. Lancaster’s is good barbeque.
The pulled pork and beef brisket ($8–19) are the most requested items on the menu and are served with traditional sides like mac-and-cheese, slaw, and corn on the cob. The pork ribs and catfish dinners are also good choices.
Race fans aren’t coming just for the barbeque. The 10,000-square-foot restaurant is spread out across three levels (with an old-school bus in the middle that’s been outfitted with tables) and every inch of the space is filled with racing memorabilia. It’s a toss up whether to focus on the pulled pork and baked beans or the fire suits, car hoods, and mini-racecars.
There are 11 TVs in the restaurant that show all of the races and other sporting events. Wednesday is Bike Night: The parking lot is filled with Harleys and there is live music on the patio.
