Planning Your Time

It goes without saying that the best times to visit NASCAR Country are during race weeks in May and October, when all of the famous NASCAR drivers are in the Queen City and ready to take to the track. During these times, it’s essential to call ahead to book tickets and reserve hotel rooms. Race shops are open extended hours during race weeks—they’re also really crowded, so it can be difficult to get an up-close look at racing memorabilia and souvenir T-shirts are often sold out.

The rest of the year there are still plenty of activities for race fans. Providing you’re prepared to battle the blazing hot sun in the summer and deal with a dip in temperatures in the winter, there is no bad time to visit NASCAR Country.
