Easily reached by Ascensor Concepción, the Museo de Lukas (Paseo Gervasoni 448, tel. 0322/221344, www.lukas.cl) is open 11 a.m.–7 p.m. daily except Monday; admission costs US$1.85 for adults, half that for children.

On Cerro Concepción, this unique museum is the legacy of Renzo Pecchenino, an Italian-born artist and honorary Porteño who worked in several different media—cartoons and caricatures of his adopted country and sketches of Valparaíso’s cityscape. Published in newspapers such as El Mercurio de Valparaíso, he went by the pseudonym “Lukas.” Some of his cartoons are displayed on brief videos.
