Puerto Natales’ nightlife options are mostly dining out and low-key bars such as Café Indigo (Ladrilleros 105), a Chilean-run but gringo-oriented gathering place with nightly slide shows about Natales and Torres del Paine. El Bar de Ruperto (Bulnes 371) takes its name from the pisco-swilling burro once popular on Chilean TV ads.

There are two locations for Ñandú Artesanía (Bulnes 599, tel. 061/415660; Eberhard 586, tel. 061/414382), which sells maps, books, and a selection of quality crafts. World’s End (Blanco Encalada 226, tel. 061/414725) is a map specialist.

The Pueblo Artesanal Ehterh Aike (Philippi 660) has a variety of crafts but is also the best place in town to buy fresh fruit and other produce.
