Hanaba Vieja
The Casa de la Comedia (Calle Justíz #18, esq. Baratillo, tel. 07/863-9282, CUC2), one block southeast of Plaza de Armas, hosts comic theater on weekends at 7 p.m.
Cine-Teatro Fausto (Prado #201, esq. Colón, Habana Vieja, tel. 07/862-5416) has comedy Friday–Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m.
Centro Habana and Cerro
Comedy is a staple at Teatro América (Av. de Italia #253, e/ Concordia y Neptuno, tel. 07/862-5416) every Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m.
Vedado and Plaza de la Revolución
The hot spot at last visit was La Roca (Calle 21, esq. M, tel. 07/834-4501, Tues.–Wed., Fri., and Sun. 10 p.m.–2 a.m., CUC5), which packs in Cubans for slapstick comedy; dine here first to secure a good seat. Bring a sweater.
Comedy is also performed at the Humor Club Cocodrilo (Av. 3ra y 10, Vedado, tel. 07/837-0305, nightly 10 p.m.–3 a.m., CUC5). Magicians perform as well.
The Teatro Bertolt Brecht (Calle 13, esq. I, tel. 07/832-9359) specializes in comedy, offered Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
