The Casa de la Trova (Máximo Gómez Sur #26, tel. 041/32-8048), on Plaza Honorato, features traditional performances Tuesday–Sunday 9 p.m.–midnight and a peña Sunday 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Café Artex (Tues.–Sun. 10 p.m.–2 a.m., CUC1), above the Banco Financiero Internacional on the main plaza, draws youth for karaoke, music, and videos.

Cabaret Los Laureles (Carretera Central, Km 383, tel. 041/32-7016), in the namesake hotel, offers an alfresco cabaret espectáculo followed by disco (Fri.–Sat. at 10 p.m., CUC5 entrance, including five beers or a bottle of rum plus two Cokes).

Cine Serafín Sánchez, on the west side of Parque Central, and Cine Príncipe, 50 meters east of the old bridge on Jesús Menéndez, show movies.

Bowling? Head to Bolera (tel. 041/22339, 24 hours), on Roloff, three blocks south of Avenida de los Mártires. It has six bowling lanes (CUC1 for 22 “bowls”) and pool tables.

Baseball is played October–May at Estadio Victoria del Girón, in Reparto Olivos.

A zoo (Tues.–Sun. 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., CUC0.30) on Bartolomé Masó, 100 meters south of Avenida de los Mártires, features lions, monkeys, hyenas, antelopes, etc.
