Just before the heat of summer settles in, Larimer Square transforms its blacktop into a sort of piazza for one weekend in June. Amateur and professional artists use chalk to make beautiful and detailed murals on the city street. Those not drawing can watch the process while enjoying Italian foods such as gelato and pizza (of course!) and step into the wine-tasting tent to sample Italian wines.
There’s a special spot for kids to practice their chalk expertise. By Sunday night, all of the art is washed away and Larimer Square returns to normal.
