Recreational opportunities abound at City Park, Denver’s largest park at 370 acres and a mile long. On the north end of the park is an 18-hole golf course with views of downtown and the mountains. Near the south side of the park is Ferril Lake and the historic boathouse and pavilion where people can rent novelty paddleboats in the summer or enjoy a free concert.
In between these major features are two smaller lakes, two playgrounds, fountains to splash in, athletic fields, and running and bicycle paths. The park includes a Mile High Loop, a contour that is 5,280 feet above sea level and now a multi-use path that goes right by the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
