Celestial Seasonings
Trip Ideas
It’s hard to remember a time when herbal tea was a cutting-edge health food concept, but back in the 1960s a group of tea radicals began picking fresh herbs in the nearby Rocky Mountains and bagging them dried for sale in health food stores.
Now Celestial Seasonings (4600 Sleepytime Dr., 303/530-5300, www.celestialseasonings.com) is a household name and visitors can take free daily tours to watch the millions of tea bags roll off the assembly line. Tours are on the hour Monday–Friday 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–3 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
There is also a gift shop and café at the company’s campus in the suburb of Gunbarrel, northeast of Boulder.
