Colorado Ski Museum
Trip Ideas
The Colorado Ski Museum (231 S. Frontage Rd., 970/476-1876, www.skimuseum.net, daily 10 a.m.–6 p.m., free) is in an odd location on the 3rd floor of the Vail Village Parking Garage, but it’s worth a visit to learn about the state’s 130-year skiing history. Photographs, old clothing and equipment, and timelines of skiing history make for an interesting lesson about this popular sport.
Who knew that mail—not to mention provisions to small outposts and even the Word of God—was delivered by determined early skiers in the 1880s?
