The Mercury Cafe has a little something for everyone, depending on the night of the week. Their all-ages shows range from blues and swing to tango and acoustic, and dancing classes are offered as well. The entertainment doesn’t stop with these specialty bands though—there’s also “open stage” Wednesday for magicians, comics, and musicians, and poetry readings on Friday.
The Mercury revels in their reputation as a “hippie” hangout for bohemian types, but anyone who enjoys dancing and live music will feel at home. Service can be spotty, so allow extra time for a night out here. No credit cards accepted, but ATM machine on-site.
