In the heart of Denver’s Santa Fe Arts District is the Museo de las Americas, the first museum in the Rocky Mountain states devoted to the art, history, and culture of Latin America. The mission of the Museo de las Americas is to share the diverse art and culture of Latin America, from ancient to contemporary.

While it seems more like a gallery than a museum with changing exhibits and artists, the Museo offers art education and community programs in conjunction with each exhibition.

Artists whose work is on display give talks about their artwork on special nights during the exhibit. There are also hands-on workshops and customized art tours for children.

Every third Friday of the month is Spanish Happy Hour, when people can come to have a drink and a snack and view the art, all while speaking Spanish.

Opened in 1994, the Museo de las Americas has helped this evolving neighborhood become a draw for new art galleries and other businesses. Be sure to visit their unique gift shop before leaving.
