Crowds pour into Croissants de France (816 Duval St., 305/294-2624, breakfast and lunch 8 a.m.–4 p.m. daily, dinner 4:30–10 p.m. Thurs.–Tues., main courses from $7) for breakfast and brunch every day, feasting on the selection of crepes, pastries, brioche, and eggs Benedict dishes. Lunch here is truly exceptional; skip the paninis, sandwiches, and even the quiches and head straight for the menu of galettes. Croissants de France stuffs these soft flatbreads with smoked salmon, roasted chicken, andouille sausage, or shrimp and brie, making it a richly flavored lunch treat.
You may not guess it from the name, but Panini Panini (1075 Duval St., 305/296-2002, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Thurs.–Tues., 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Wed., main courses from $6) specializes in, uh, paninis. Located a few blocks from the Southernmost Point, this is a great spot to grab an excellent grill-pressed sandwich after posing in front of the buoy.
