For a more relaxed and charming outing, downtown Dunedin maintains its Old Florida charm and is home to a handful of unique local businesses. Stop into art galleries like Clay and Paper (350 Main St., 727/736-0934, www.claypaper.com, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Tues.–Sat.) or grab a light bite and a glass of wine at Purple Moon (833 Douglas Ave., 727/738-1540, www.purplemooninc.com, 10:30 a.m.–midnight Tues.–Sun.).
For the more activity-inclined, both sides of the Dunedin Causeway have ample parking, allowing access to the small sandy beaches that trail into St. Joseph Sound; this is a great location for fishing, wading, and Jet Skiing.
