The America the Beautiful Senior Pass ($10 lifetime fee) replaces the Golden Age Passport, which may be exchanged at no charge. The Senior Pass is a lifetime interagency pass for U.S. citizens age 62 and older, providing access at no charge to all federal recreation fee sites. It must be obtained in person at the park with proof of age, such as a driver’s license. The pass admits up to three accompanying adult passengers in a noncommercial vehicle. In addition, pass holders receive a 50 percent discount on other park fees, such as for campsites in national park campgrounds. Senior discounts may or may not be offered by park concessionaires. (But it never hurts to ask, does it?)
