Macau (11 Calle at 14 Av. SO, tel. 504/553-4852, 10 a.m.–midnight daily) is among the more popular Chinese restaurants in the zona viva for its menu of large, reasonably priced dishes, even if they are unexceptionally flavored. The place is clean and charges US$4–5 per large entrée of chap suey or chow min with beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp.

Boc-Ga (13 Calle NO at 11 Av., tel. 504/9991-0077) has authentic if expensive Korean dishes such as kimchi soup (US$21–32), as well as many more reasonably priced choices such as beef teriyaki (US$8) and other kinds of soups (US$6–8).

Two blocks from the Hilton Princess on 14 Calle is Bon-Sai, serving up the best sushi in town, as well as Japanese specialties like tempura and yakitori.
