Housed in the recently renovated building on Avenida Cervantes, four blocks east of the parque, Museo del Hombre (tel. 504/238-3198, 8:30 a.m.–noon and 1:30–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri., free admission) is a quiet, modest museum-slash-gallery with rotating exhibits of varying quality, as well as a permanent collection of paintings that recount Honduras’s history (the staff will happily explain the paintings if you ask).
The house once belonged to Independence hero Ramón Rosa and later served as the national Supreme Court. Museo del Hombre has frequent receptions and events. In the back of the museum is one of Honduras’s principal art restoration workshops.
