Museo Regional de Arqueología
Although nothing on the level of the Museo de Escultura at the Mayan ruins, the small Museo Regional de Arqueología (tel. 504/651-4437, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, US$3 entrance) on the park is worth a visit to admire the complete tomb of a shaman, laid out in a case just as it was found at Las Sepulturas site, or the ceramic incense vessels covered with figures of Copán’s rulers.
Other items of interest include statuettes, jade sculptures, and a few of the famous obsidian flints with exquisitely carved Mayan faces.
