Of the several low-priced hotels in Nueva Ocotepeque, Hotel Turista (tel. 504/653-3639, US$5.25 s/d with shared bath; US$8 s, US$9.50 d with cold-water private bath; US$10.50 s, US$12 d with hot water private bath) is a good value, with clean and spacious rooms with different prices and amenities.

Two blocks up from the bus station is the remarkably nice Hotel Maya Chortí (tel. 504/653-3377, US$21 s, US$31.50 d with fan, including breakfast). All rooms have hot water, cable TV, and fans, and some have small refrigerators and air-conditioning for just US$3 more. The restaurant (7 a.m.–9 p.m.) has very good meals for US$6–10, and the staff speaks some English. A good value all in all. Parking is available.

Also very good is Hotel Sandoval (tel. 504/653-3098, US$26–37 s, US$35–44 d, including breakfast). Prices vary according to the size of the room and whether it has air-conditioning or fan. The hotel has a pool, and its restaurant, open daily 7 a.m.–9 p.m., has good food.

Hotel Internacional (Calle Internacional between 1 and 2 Av., tel. 504/653-2357, US$21 s, US$30.50 d with fan, a few dollars more for a/c) is a large new hotel in the center of town. Breakfast is included in the rate.
