Much more than a park, Swope Park hosts the Kansas City Zoo, [node:91615 link Starlight Theater], Swope Memorial Golf Course, Blue River Golf Course, and Lakeside Nature Center.

Ten shelters and numerous picnic spots are ideal places for an outdoor meal. A volunteer-built 1.35-mile urban hiking and mountain bike trail is a challenging route that offers unmatched views of the surrounding parkland.

Created on land donated by Colonel Thomas Swope in 1896, Swope Park is one of the city’s first and largest parks.
