Les Bourgeois Winery
Wine enthusiasts from around Missouri flock to Rocheport’s celebrated winery, Les Bourgeois (12847 W. Highway BB, 800/690-1830, www.missouriwine.com, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Tues.–Sat., 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Sun., $6–24), for flavorful red, white, and blush varieties made entirely on-site.
Before you relax with a glass (or bottle) at one of the bluff-top tables overlooking the Missouri River, get a glimpse of the wine-making process with a guided tour and complimentary tasting (1, 2, and 3 p.m. Sat. and Sun.).
An adjacent understated yet stylish bistro is a picturesque place to enjoy a meal against the backdrop of the Missouri River. Try a sandwich with locally grown tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, and arugula; for dinner, you can’t go wrong with the indulgent buttermilk-marinated, cornflake-baked chicken breast.
Stop at the gift shop on your way out to pick up gift baskets, bottles of your favorite Les Bourgeois wine, and other wine-centric souvenirs.
