Throughout the year, the Central Michigan University Chippewas stage a wide range of sporting events, from football to women’s basketball. If you’re interested in catching a game while you’re in Mount Pleasant, contact the CMU Athletics Ticket Office (989/774-3045, www.cmuchippewas.com).
Golf
The Mount Pleasant area offers several decent golf courses. Two options include Bucks Run Golf Club (1559 S. Chippewa Rd., 989/773-6830, www.bucksrun.com, daily Apr.–Nov., $40–80 w/cart), situated on 290 gorgeous acres that include wetlands, three lakes, and the Chippewa River, and Riverwood Resort (1313 E. Broomfield Rd., 989/772-5726, www.riverwoodresort.com, daily Apr.–Oct., $12–48), which offers 27 classic holes, a spacious clubhouse, several deluxe villas, and two dozen bowling lanes.
