Breakfast and Light Meals
Trip Ideas
A popular spot for a hearty old-fashioned breakfast or lunch is the McCormick Café (2419 Montana Ave., 406/255-9555, 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Mon.–Fri., 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Sat., 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Sun.), located in a historic hotel in the city’s oldest district.
Just down the block is the Log Cabin Bakery (2519 Montana Ave., 406/294-5555, 6 a.m.–3 p.m. Mon.–Sat.), with excellent breads, cookies, desserts, coffee, and lunchtime panini.
Support local farmers at Grains of Montana (926 Grand Ave., 406/259-7142, 7 a.m.–9 p.m.), a bakery, sandwich, and pizza restaurant that features bread products created with spring wheat flour from the owner’s farm.
Another good, locally-owned option for light meals is a brewpub. Billings has several notable small breweries which also offer burgers and snacks.
