Right downtown is the Marcus Daly Motel (119 W. Park, 406/563-3411 or 800/535-6528, $79 and up); it’s both comfortable and convenient, with an attentive owner. Special rates, including ski and golf packages, are available.
The Vagabond Lodge Motel (1421 E. Park, 406/563-5251 or 800/231-2660, $65–85) is an attractive brick inn across from the city park and within walking distance of the golf course.
Find B&B lodgings at the Hickory House (218 Park, 406/563-5481, www.hickoryhouseinn.com, $90–100), a nicely restored former rectory with a lovely garden. The owners also rent a four-bedroom house ($150) near the golf course.
Also consider staying just a few miles down the road at Fairmont Hot Springs.
