Norris Hot Springs
Trip Ideas
At Norris Hot Springs (406/685-3303, www.norrishotsprings.com, 4–10 p.m. Wed.–Sun. May–Sept., 4–9 p.m. Wed.–Thurs., 2–10 p.m. Sat.–Sun. Oct.–Apr., $5, no credit cards), just east of Norris on Highway 84, the natural springs fill a small pool lined with wooden boards. Hot water shoots into the air and showers down onto a corner of the pool, lowering the temperature of the water from the source temperature of 120°F to about 104°F.
From one side of the pool bathers can look out onto the nearby wetland, which is frequently visited by wildlife.
The hot springs has also become a great place to hear acoustic roots music (7 p.m. Thurs.–Sun., $7 admission when there’s music).
