Horseback Riding
Trip Ideas
Horseback riding is allowed in most areas of Custer State Park, with the exception of the Sylvan Lake watershed and the Grace Coolidge Walk-In Fishing Area. Guided trail rides are available at Blue Bell Stables (605/255-4700, reservations required). The Blue Bell area is nicely forested. There is a pretty stream that meanders through the trees and all rides provide a little of every kind of terrain. Children must be old enough to ride alone.
There are one-hour (adult $28, child $22), two-hour (adult $40, child $32), half-day ($110, includes lunch), and full-day ($190, includes lunch) trail rides available.
