Biking

Bikers in rural New England are blessed with countless terrain options: much of Cape Cod and its islands have bike paths and lanes carved out on picturesque bays; the entire region’s small country towns sport wide and pretty roads meandering through historic villages; and the trails in northern New England make for excellent mountain biking (especially during fall foliage season). The cities are a different story. While it’s certainly possible to bike around places like Boston, Portland, Hartford, and Providence, an abundance of traffic and a lack of bike paths mean that even experienced bikers should ride with extra caution.
